In Malaysia, other than a modern outfit, this is the most popular outfit women wore to the office. I believe it is not a common dress in a modern century but this traditional outfit has been a popular choice for most Malays also non-Malay in Malaysia.

This outfit is called Baju Kurung. This is the national dress of Malaysia and it’s being one of the approved styles of dress for female civil servants and one of the approved styles of uniform for female school students.

However, its peak sales occur in the month of Ramadan on the Muslim calendar and the Baju Kurung always the first choice to wear during Eid celebration.

The one that I’m wearing is not a ready-made, which people can not get from the stores. I bought the cloth in Indonesia which is very cheap and sent to the tailor in Malaysia to make the dress which is very expensive because it is a custom made.

However, I really love and always impressed with the skills of the tailor that able to make this Baju Kurung so neatly and comfortable.
