Old Shirt to Apron

I have craziness about bento (lunch box) lately, I woke up early morning to prepare the bento so I’m able to eat during lunch hour at my office. I realised I’m run out of apron because I have only one apron which I made in last DIY red Apron.
I’m quite stingy to buy a new apron, so I decided to make another one on my own using my unused shirt.

So this is the shirt that I use.

First
I just cut out the shirt shoulder (you may refer to above picture)

Second
I use a purple colour cloth to match with my apron. For the width and length, I just measure according to the shirt except for the apron straps (refer below), I folded then sew the edge together.

Apron straps –
width : 2 inches
Length : 20 inches

Third
For pockets, I use leftover cloth from the shirt and I don’t really measure the size, I just cut it out. As long as it fits the apron everything just fine.

Fourth
Now for the neck strap, it also taken from leftover cloth, cut it into three strips then I braid it (refer to below picture)

and it’s time to sew all the parts together, then for the last decoration is the bow.

that’s how I made my apron and the bow does look cute.
